COVID-19 vaccination works by teaching your immune system how to recognize and fight the virus that causes COVID-19, and this protects you from getting sick with COVID-19.

Frequently Asked Questions

Got questions? We have answers.

Will I have to pay any fees to get vaccinated?

No, you will not have to pay to receive the COVID-19 vaccine. The United States government has made this vaccine free to all.

Are the vaccines safe? Yes. While these vaccines are being developed quickly, the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has rigorous standards and procedures to ensure the safety of any vaccine. Clinical trials must show COVID-19 vaccines are safe and effective before use. People of different ages, races, ethnicities, as well as those with different medical conditions, participated in these trials.

How is the vaccine administered? The vaccine is injected into your arm, just like a flu shot. The Moderna COVID-19 vaccines require two doses, an initial dose and then a repeat vaccination 3 or 4 weeks later

Is the vaccine available to children:

The Moderna vaccine is only available to people 18 years old and older.

Can I make an appointment to get vaccinated? We are working to create an appointment system. But for now it is first come first served.

Are there side effects? Some people may experience mild symptoms including muscle pain at the injection site, fever, headache, or fatigue. These symptoms usually go away on their own within a few days and signal that your immune system is working. Very few serious side effects have been reported. The FDA and CDC continue to monitor the safety of COVID-19 vaccines.

Which vaccine will I receive from? We will be administering the Moderna Vaccine.

Should I get a vaccine? Experts believe getting a COVID-19 vaccine may keep you from getting seriously ill, even if you do get COVID-19. Vaccinations protect you by creating an antibody response without having to experience sickness. The vaccine may also protect people around you, particularly those at increased risk for severe illness from COVID-19.
